Perhaps the most majestic of our native trees and a potent national emblem. A very long lived enduring tree producing hard timber, it can withstand centuries over generations. Its deeply grained bark gives year round appeal and its expansive root system does best on deep heavy soils. A good choice for parkland, avenues and wide verges.

All kinds of mosses and wildlife are supported by the oak and wherever this tree grows there is always plenty of light and shelter for everything that grows around it.
